
Flashes Travel to Kalamazoo to Face the Broncos

Kalamazoo, Michigan - The Kent State men's basketball team (20-5, 10-2 MAC) travels to face the Broncos (6-19, 2-10 MAC) on Tuesday, Feb. 14. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Flashes are looking to continue their two-game win streak and sweep the series against Western Michigan after winning 80-72 against the Broncos in their first MAC game of the season. The Flashes now have twenty wins this season giving head Coach Senderoff his eighth season at Kent with 20+ victories in a season.
The Flashes are getting production from all over the place. Offensive leader Sincere Carry averages 16.7 points and 5.2 assists per game. Carry has recorded double-digits in 22 games including a double-double against Buffalo (15 points, 10 assists). Guard Malique Jacobs continues to lead the MAC with 2.9 steals per game and is third in Kent State History with 69 steals this season. Miryne Thomas recorded a game-high 19 points and recorded a plus-minus 15 points against Buffalo on Feb. 10.
The Flashes' defense has come to life over the past few games allowing only 64.2 points per game, first in the MAC. The Flashes are 7-5 on the road averaging 66.2 points per game with a +2.1 scoring margin. The Flashes have shot 42 percent from the field and 64.7 percent from the free-throw line on the road.
Scouting the Broncos
The Broncos are currently tied for last in the MAC conference with a 2-10 record along with Miami (OH). The Broncos are coming off an 81-53 loss to NIU on Feb. 11.
The Broncos are led by scoring leader Lamar Norman Jr. who averages 17.6 points and 3.0 assists per game. Norman Jr. recorded double digits in their last game against NIU with 12 points and chipped in a team-high three assists. Markeese Hastings is another key player for WMU leading the Broncos in rebounds (9.8PPG), blocks (0.5PPG), and steals (.10PPG). Hastings is currently second in the MAC with 0.8 rebounds per game.
The Broncos have won the majority of their games at home with a 5-5 record inside the Read Fieldhouse. WMU averages 74.2 points at home while their opponents average only 67.8 points. At home, the Broncos shot 45.2 percent from the field and 69.7 from the free throw line.
