Whitman Earns MAC Pitcher of the Week Honors

KENT- Golden Flashes left hander Joe Whitman was named the Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Week for his debut in Saturday's win over Jacksonville.
Whitman threw five shutout innings in Saturday's 16-inning marathon victory over the Dolphins. The Hudson native allowed only two hits and one walk while striking out 11. His 11 strikeouts were the second-most in Division-I on opening weekend.
The lefty got stronger as the game went on, striking out the side in his final inning and five of the final six batters he faced.
The Flashes head to South Carolina this weekend to face the Wofford Terriers for a three-game set. First pitch on Friday is set for 5:30 p.m.
