DeCavitch, Franz, Guns Wrap Up Season at Norman Regional

NORMAN, Okla. – Seniors Rachel DeCavitch and Karlie Franz and sophomore Alyssa Guns represented Kent State and finished their 2023 season at the Norman Regional in Oklahoma on Thursday.
All three gymnasts competed in the first session of Thursday's meet.
Guns and Franz both competed exclusively on floor. The sophomore did her routine in the first rotation, scoring a 9.750, while Franz's final performance of her senior season earned a 9.850 in the second rotation.
DeCavitch rotated alongside Iowa as an all-arounder. Competing in Olympic order, she started her day with a 9.725 on vault, followed by a 9.800 on bars, her highest event score of the day. She also posted a 9.750 on beam and a 9.050 on floor in the last meet of her senior campaign.
Kentucky won the afternoon session with a 197.475 team score, beating Alabama (197.375) by a tenth. Both SEC schools will advance to Saturday's Regional Final.
