Scott Earns Third MAC Pitcher of the Week Honor

KENT-Kent State closer Mitchell Scott has earned his third Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Week honor for his efforts during Kent State's 4-0 week.
Scott recorded three saves in the four Kent State victories last week, upping his total to a NCAA-leading 12 on the year. Over the four appearances, seven of the 11 outs he recorded we via the strike out. He retired all four Buckeyes by strikeout to seal the win last Wednesday. He recorded another four-out save in Friday's series-opening victory over the Bobcats, striking out two more. On Sunday, he finished off the sweep of Ohio with a clean ninth inning.
The graduate student has been lights out this season for the Golden Flashes. The Cal transfer is now 12-for-13 in save opportunities and owns a 1.27 earned run average over 35.1 innings pitched and a strong 13.2 strikeouts per nine innings. Scott and the Golden Flashes will head to Ann Arbor on Wednesday to face the Michigan Wolverines. First pitch is set for 4 p.m.
