
Kent State Led by Baidy Ba’s Fourth-Place Finish at Live in Lou Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Junior Baidy Ba placed fourth in the men's Gold 8K race as the Kent State cross country teams competed at the Live in Lou Classic on Saturday morning.
Ba crossed the finish line in 23:43.0 for his third top-four finish in as many races this season. Senior Ethan Yost and sophomore Dylan McBride set new personal-best times in the 8K to help the Golden Flashes place 16th out of 39 teams, ahead of host Louisville and Clemson out of Power 5 conferences. Yost posted a time of 24:33.8 for 53rd and McBride finished in 25:06.9 for 113th.
Junior Sydney Gallagher and freshman Ella McCollom clocked in under 19:00.0 to lead the women's team. Gallagher (18:42.5) finished 147th and McCollom (18:46.2) was close behind in 153rd.
Kent State will return to action in two weeks with runners in action at the Falcon Invitational Friday, Oct. 13 and Pre-Nationals on Saturday, Oct. 14.
