
Flashes Return Home with a Thrilling OT Victory Over the Falcons

Kent, OH - The Kent State Men's Basketball team (10-9) defeated Bowling Green, 90-84, in a thrilling overtime game inside the Stroh Center. The Flashes are now 3-4 in the Mid-American Conference. With a victory tonight, the Flashes snapped Bowling Green's seven-game home win streak. The Flashes will return to the M.A.C. Center on Friday, Jan. 26. Friday's game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET and will be aired on CBS Sports Network.
The Falcons started the game off with a three, but Jalen Sullinger responded by hitting back-to-back threes helping the Flashes go on an 8-0 run. Cli'Ron Hornbeak entered the game for the first time since the Flashes faced Oregon giving the Flashes the extra spark they needed recording an offensive rebound. The Flashes led by double digits with 8:38 left in the first half. Sullinger recorded double figures and shot nearly perfect going 2-of-2 from three and 4-of-8 from the field. Despite the Flashes' double-digit lead, the Falcons were slowly cutting into the lead and taking advantage of the charity stripe, After 20 minutes, we were all knotted up going into halftime at 34 a piece. Despite, the Falcons only leading the first half for thirty seconds.
Entering the final 20 minutes of the game, it was a back-and-forth contest with seven lead changes and seven ties. VonCameron Davis kept the Flashes in the game recording his first double-double of the year with 21 points and tied his career-high with 10 boards. With only 1:18 left in regulation time, Giovanni Santiago sank a three to tie the game forcing the game into OT.
The Flashes came into OT hot with a floater from Jalen Sullinger and a three right away. Tyem Freeman followed Sullinger's lead hitting his first three of the night. Sullinger had nine points in OT and led the Flashes with a game-high 30 points. The Flashes secured the victory going 6-of- 6 from the charity stripe. The Flashes were the first team to beat the Falcons at home this season.

Next up, the Golden Flashes will return to the M.A.C. Center to face Ohio on Friday, Jan. 26. Tip-off time is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. ET. The game will be live on CBS Sports Network.
