Kalamazoo, Mich.- The Kent State soccer team fell to the top-seeded Western Michigan Broncos 1-4 in the Mid-American Conference semifinal Thursday afternoon.

Western Michigan opened the scoring in the 12^th minute of the match off the foot of Jenna Blackburn.

Kent State would anser back just seven minutes later when a Bronco defender took down Josie Morgan in the 18-yard box to give the Flashes a penalty kick. Alisa Arthur took the penalty for Kent State, the senior approached the ball calmly and slotted it in the bottom corner to the goalkeeper's right.

The Broncos would take the lead in the 37^th minute on a penalty kick of their own. They would double their lead just two minutes later in the 39^th minute. The Flashes limited the damage in the remainder of the half limiting the Broncos to one shot which was off target.

Kent State's offense struggled find their footing in the final 45 minutes firing 3 shots and forcing the Western Michigan goalkeeper to make 2 saves. The Broncos added some extra insurance in the 63^rd minute when they were awarded another penalty and converted.

In the box score the Flashes trailed in shots (9-16), shots on goal (6-8), and corner-kick opportunities (6-9). Arthur, Siena Stambolich, and Jules Dolinski all fired two shots. Stambolich, Arthur, Dolinski, Kelsey Salopek, Alanna Raimondo, and Josie Morgan all fired shots on goal. In net Heidi Marshall recorded four saves in net.
