Nuechterlein Named MAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

CLEVELAND — Kent State freshman Megan Nuechterlein has been named Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Nuechterlein went 4-0 with a 0.93 ERA and threw 30 innings as the Golden Flashes moved back into the top-6 in the MAC standings. She earned three complete game victories and allowed just one earned run in all four of her starts during the week. Nuechterlein held Buffalo hitless over three innings in her lone relief appearance. She totaled 21 strikeouts and held opposing batters to a .211 batting average.
Kent State will look to extend a four-game winning streak this weekend when it travels to first-place Miami for a three-game series.
