KENT- Seven Golden Flashes celebrated their undergraduate or graduate degree from Kent State in a pre-game ceremony but Ball State spoiled the party with an 11-1 victory on Friday afternoon.
Ball State was methodically productive on offense on Friday, scoring single tallies in five of the first six innings before breaking it open late. The Flashes worked solid at bats against Ball State lefty Keegan Johnson, working five walks off the freshman, but couldn't get the big hit. Kyle Jackson delivered home the Flashes lone run, a double in the third that plated Josh Johnson. Jackson recorded a pair of hits and made 10 outs in the field at shortstop on Friday.
The Flashes now sit at 26-25 overall and 16-13 in the MAC while Ball State is 31-20-1 and 18-11 in conference play. Kent State will look to send the senior class out with a home win in the regular season finale on Saturday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. with a Senior Day ceremony planned for around 12:30 p.m.
