Burns Adds Two to Coaching Staff

KENT- Head Football coach Kenni Burns has added a pair of coaches to his staff for the 2024 season with the hirings of CJ Conrad and Malcolm Robinson.
Conrad will serve as Tight Ends Coach for Kenni Burns while Robinson will serve as the Rush Ends Coach.
A graduate of and All-SEC tight end for the University of Kentucky Wildcats, Conrad got his coaching start with the Wildcats as a graduate assistant. For two seasons, he worked with tight ends and special teams before serving as the offensive quality control coach during the 2023 spring season. Conrad comes to Kent State after one season at Eastern Kentucky where he coached tight ends. There he was part of a staff that was eighth in total offense in the FCS and coached a first-team all-conference tight end. Conrad was a team captain for the Wildcats and an undrafted free agent with the New York Giants where he made the practice squad for the 2019 season.
Robinson joins the Kent GRIT family from Pitt where he was a defensive line graduate assistant since January 2023. Prior to working with the Panthers, he got his coaching start with the Akron Zips where he served as a Quality Control coach for defense. Robinson was a four-year member of the University of Minnesota football team where he earned four Academic All-Conference honors. He also was a graduate transfer to Morgan State where he earned pre-season All-MEAC honors as well as honor roll accolades.
The Golden Flashes will open the 2024 campaign against a familiar foe to Robinson in the Pitt Panthers on Saturday, August 31st. The home opener for the 2024 season comes a week later on September 7th against Saint Francis University.ย
