KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The United Soccer Coaches named Kent State Soccer junior, Kelsey Salopek, a defender to watch in 2024 on Tuesday.
The lists are compiled and released by the Division I All-America Committees to promote college soccer leading up to the official start of the regular season later this month.
The Munhall, Pennsylvania native, Salopek, is entering her junior season and will be a force for the Golden Flashes in the back line this fall.
Salopek is coming off a sensational sophomore campaign where she played and started every game in defense after playing in the midfield as a freshman. In her new role she played 1,805 minutes (third amongst position players) helping lead the Flashes to four shutout victories.
Her stellar season led her to earn First Team All-MAC as well as United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-Midwest Region honors.
