Flashes Unveil 2024-25 Men's Basketball Schedule

KENT, Ohio —The Kent State men's basketball team has announced their full schedule for the upcoming 2024-2025 season. The Golden Flashes ended their 2023-2024 campaign with 17 wins and reached the 2024 MAC Tournament Championship game.
The blue and gold are looking to continue their success with the new season approaching. "We've put together an incredibly challenging non-conference schedule for this upcoming year.", said coach Senderoff. "Highlighted by playing two preseason top 10 teams in Auburn and Alabama. In addition, our MTE will have preseason conference favorites the Coastal Athletic Association and Big West Conference. Along with numerous challenging games throughout."
Non-Conference Schedule
Kent State will play 12 non-conference games including five at home in the MAC Center. The regular season will begin on Nov. 4 at Louisiana and will conclude at home against Heidelberg on Dec. 29. For Thanksgiving break the Flashes will travel to Lethbridge, Ontario, Canada for the Western Slam where they will take on Towson on Nov. 28, UC Irvine on Nov. 29, and Kennesaw State on Nov. 30. The Flashes will play five opponents that won 20 or more games during the 2023-2024 season including, Auburn, Cleveland State, Towson, UC Irvine, and Alabama.
Mid-American Conference Schedule
Kent State will then play an 18-game conference slate scheduled to tip off at home on Jan. 4 against Ball State. The Flashes will play both home and road match ups with seven MAC opponents, and just one game against the remaining four. Match ups with Akron will take place at home on Feb. 1 and away on March 1. The team will hold Senior Night on March 7 prior to the final regular season game against Eastern Michigan.
Halfway through conference play the Flashes will participate in the Mid-American Conference - Sun Belt Conference Challenge beginning on Feb. 8 in which Kent State will be host a team from the opposing conference.
Upon the conclusion of MAC play the top eight teams in the conference standings will compete in the 2025 MAC Men's Basketball Tournament at Cleveland's Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse from March 13-15.
"The MAC is always going to be competitive.", added coach Senderoff. "We are excited about that challenge as well."
