Kent, Ohio– The Golden Flashes signed two talented Wrestlers to the upcoming 2026 Freshman Class on National Signing Day on Wednesday. The two nationally recognized signees come in Josh Moore's first full high school recruiting cycle as Head Coach at Kent State.
Colin Whyte
The West Greene, Pennsylvania native is a two-time state qualifier at the Pennsylvania State Wrestling Tournament in Hershey, including a fourth-placed finish as a junior. Whyte was also a placer at the 2024 Powerade Wrestling Tournament against some top-tier talent in the country.
He not only excels on the mat, but in the classroom as well as a 4.0 GPA student. Ahead of his senior season at West Greene High School, he will come in with a career record of 116-30, including 63 pins. He will help out the Golden Flashes on the mat at the 285-pound weight class.
Jordan Fincher
The Hickman, Missouri native is regarded by many to be one of the top recruits of the 2026 class in the Show Me State. Entering his senior year at Hickman High School, he has already placed at the Missouri State Championships three times, while also winning a District title last season.
His high skill set helped him in taking home a 2025 USA Wrestling Preseason National Championship in Des Moines, Iowa just last month. In Kent, Fincher will wrestle at the 165 or 174-pound weight classes for the Golden Flashes.
