INDIANAPOLIS – Senior forward Delrecco Gillespie has been named Oscar Robertson Trophy Mid-Major Player of the Month by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association. The USBWA has introduced this new honor and unveil their first winners on Monday afternoon.
Eight games into the 2025-2026 season, Gillespie has posted a double-double in all eight. He currently stands alone as the national leader in double-doubles. In November Gillespie dropped 156 points, hauled in 102 boards, dished out 14 assists, posted 13 blocks, and tallied seven steals. He leads the Golden Flashes in scoring (19.5 ppg), rebounds (12.8), and blocks (1.6).
This marks the second USBWA award of the 2025-2026 season for Gillespie and Kent State as a program.
