Flashes Get Their Fourth Win In Eight Days, Beating Chattanooga 28-12

Kent, OHIO- The Kent State Wrestling team earned their fourth win in five duals with a big 28-12 victory over UT Chattanooga on Friday night to improve their record to 5-3 so far this season.
The Flashes won six bouts and recorded three wins by fall in the contest. The first came at the 149-pound weight class where freshman Silas Stits scored a pin in the third round over Will Anderson(Chattanooga) to earn six points for the home team.
The next pin came from Chris Earnest(165), who competed in his first dual action of the season against Mason Reiniche. He was able to secure the fall in the final second of the match to bring the energy and earn another six points for the Blue and Gold. Ethan Barr(174) pinned Kamdyn Munro(Chattanooga) towards the end of the first round in the next match to get the third and final pin of the night for KSU.
Blake Schaffer(197) won the only Major Decision of the meet as he defeated Tre McTorry III(Chattanooga) by a score of 14-6. Nick Molchak scored a takedown in sudden victory for the Flashes to defeat Bryce Luna(Chattanooga) 5-2. Reese Stephen(157) won the other decision of the night for the home team, taking down Cavarius Liddie(Chattanooga) by a score of 6-4.
