
Delrecco Gillespie Named to 2025-2026 Lou Henson Award Early Season Watch List

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior forward Delrecco Gillespie has been named to CollegeInsider.com's 'Early Season Watch List' for the 2025-26 Lou Henson award, which is presented annually to the top player in division I college basketball.
12 games into the season, Gillespie has posted a nation leading 11 double-doubles. He is also the national leader in rebounds. So far this season Gillespie has dropped 231 points, pulled in 151 boards, dished out 20 assists, racked up 10 steals, and posted 24 blocks. He continues to lead the Golden Flashes in average points per game (19.3), rebounds per game (12.6), and blocks per game (2.0).
The Lou Henson award honors the former Illinois and New Mexico State head coach who won 775 games in 41 seasons and is the winningest head coach in the history of both programs.
The recipient of the annual award is determined by a 10-member voting committee, which consists of current and former head coaches, as well as two senior staff members of collegeinsider.com.
The 2026 award will be announced in Indianapolis, IN, site of the men's Division I Basketball Championship.
