KENT, Ohio – On a day in which Kent State celebrated 50 years of varsity status for its women's track and field team, Amryne Chilton set the program record in the 60-meter dash with the previous recordholder in attendance.
Chilton's time of 7.44 seconds broke the previous Golden Flashes standard (7.46) set by Katie Reiser in 2013 and tied the Kent State Field House record that was set at the 2009 Mid-American Conference Championship meet. Chilton also ran the opening leg of the 4x400-meter relay, teaming with Alexandria Verbancic, Ella Baker and Marinna Atanmo for a winning time of 3:46.61.
Yissis Cortijo Dominc also recorded a personal-best during the 60m dash finals and placed third with a time of 7.48 seconds that puts her at No. 4 in the school record book.
Keeli Dunaway continued to climb the Flashes' all-time performance list as she claimed first in the women's triple jump. Dunaway set a new PR for the third time this season with a mark of 41'-5.75" that puts her in a tie for the No. 4 spot in school history.
Kent State had a strong showing in the women's 60-meter hurdles with four in the top six finishers. Gabrielle Hammonds clocked a PR of 8.62 seconds for the win and the eighth fastest time in school history. Alexa Nestor (8.73), Andrea Filote (8.78) and Shelby Grover (8.87) placed third, fourth and sixth, respectively.
Led by Karsyn Spears, the Flashes took the top three spots in the women's 800-meter run. Spears won in 2:11.68, while Anna Jones placed second in 2:14.73 and Nicole Kuehner was third in 2:14.80.

Sean Callahan Jr. claimed the only individual event victory for the men. Callahan Jr. matched his best 60-meter dash time of the season and crossed the finish line in 6.84 seconds.
Fabio Justo, Logan Doyle, Beau Harkelroad and Owen Miller won the 4x400m relay in 3:17.00.
