EUGENE, Ore. – Former Kent State All-American Reggie Jagers III claimed his second men's discus throw national title during competition on Saturday at the 2025 USATF Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field. Jagers III, who represented the United State of America at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, previously won the event in 2018.
On Saturday, the lefty took the lead with a mark of 66.75 meters (219'-4") in the third round of throws. That would be his best throw of the competition, and he added a heave of 66.55m (218'-4") on his final attempt. He was the only competitor to record a throw further than 65.56m.
Jagers III will represent Team USA at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo on Sept. 13-21. Another former Golden Flash, Danniel Thomas-Dodd, will also compete at the event. Thomas-Dodd will represent Jamaica in women's shot put at the World Championships for the sixth time. The three-time Olympian has three top-five finishes, including a silver medal in 2019.
