Golden Flashes Earn USTFCCCA Academic Honors

NEW ORLEANS – The Kent State men's and women's track and field teams, along with 12 individual student-athletes, received All-Academic honors for the 2026 season, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Monday.
To earn All-Academic Team distinction, a program must have at least a 3.00 cumulative team GPA.
Student-athletes must have completed at least two semesters at the nominating institution with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and finished the indoor season ranked in the top 96 in any championship individual event, finished the outdoor season ranked in the top 48 in the East or West certifiable by their place on final season performance lists on TFRRS.org, or participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
The Golden Flashes' 12 individual honorees are the most of any Mid-American Conference school. Ayden Bath and Svenia De Coninck earned the award for the third year in a row, while Matilde Carboncini, Keeli Dunaway and Shelby Grover were recognized for the second time. Desmond Boyd, Amryne Chilton, Ryan Gruss, Gabrielle Hammonds, Kristen Jay, Alexa Nestor and Linkon Tyrrell received their first USTFCCCA academic accolade.
