Kent State Track and Field Opens Postseason at NCAA East First Round on Wednesday

The Kent State track and field program has 11 student-athletes slated for competition at the 2026 NCAA East Preliminary Rounds, which will be held Wednesday through Saturday at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track & Field Complex.
Amryne Chilton leads the Golden Flashes and will run both the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Chilton is the program record holder in both events and has qualified in the 200m for the third year in a row.
Joining her in running events are Marinna Atanmo (women's 400-meter hurdles), Baidy Ba (men's 5,000-meter run) and the 4x100-meter relay team of Sean Callahan Jr., Ryan Gruss, Chaz Sakala and Micah Coates.
Amare Hall (men's long jump) and Kristen Jay (women's javelin throw) will compete at the meet for the second year in a row. Luigi Case (men's long jump) and Lanee Hall (women's triple jump) will make their postseason debuts to round out the group of Flashes in action in Lexington.
The top 12 performers in each event will advance to the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon.
