Three Flashes Represent Gymnastics at NCAA Regionals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – A trio of Flashes took center stage on Thursday night as Charlie Behner, Heidi Schultz, and Alyssa Guns participated in NCAA Regionals. In the meet hosted by Penn State, Behner competed on vault, Schultz on beam, and Guns on the floor.
The first Kent State gymnast of the night to perform was Behner. The 2025 Second-Team All-MAC selection earned a 9.750 on vault to wrap up a successful junior season. She led the Flashes with a 9.835 NQS on vault this season, while also posting season highs of 9.900 on bars and 9.875 on the floor.
Schultz posted Kent State's best score of the night on beam, earning a 9.800 to finish tied for 15th in the event. Another Second-Team All-MAC selection, Schultz concludes her junior season with a MAC-leading 9.850 NQS on beam, posting a career-high 9.925 in the event against Ball State on March 9. Schultz also made 11 appearances on bars this season for the Flashes, posting a season-high 9.850 in the event on two separate occasions.
Guns wrapped up an illustrious four-year collegiate career with the final routine of the night on the floor, recording a 9.725. In her senior season, which culminated in a fourth consecutive individual NCAA Regional appearance, Guns earned First-Team All-MAC honors after posting a MAC-best 9.900 NQS on the floor and earning a 9.900 or better on six occasions. Guns also competed in all 12 meets on beam for Kent State this season, posting a season-high 9.875 against Western Michigan on February 2.
The trio's finishes at the University Park Regional mark the end of the 2025 gymnastics season for Kent State. The campaign saw the team earn the 11th MAC Regular Season Championship in program history as head coach Brice Biggin was named conference coach of the year for the 12th time in his career.
