
Transfer Jahari Williamson Joins Kent State Men’s Basketball

KENT – Transfer guard Jahari Williamson has joined Kent State men's basketball. The Pickering, Ontario, Canada native will join the Golden Flashes for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
Williamson comes to Kent State University from Niagara University where he spent the 2024-2025 season. He appeared in all 31 games for the Purple Eagles making 12 starts. Williamson dropped 270 points via 83 field goals, including 55 three-pointers. Additionally, he went 49-58 from the free throw line, tallied 29 assists, 20 steals, and 33 boards. He was one of two leading scorers for Niagara against Kent State on Nov. 21, 2024, in the M.A.C. Center scoring 17 points. He went on to score a season high 19 points twice last season against Marist (Feb. 23, 2025) and against Rider (Mar. 8, 2025.)
Prior to Niagara, Williamson spent the 2023-2024 season at Valparaiso University where he appeared in 30 games making five starts for the Beacons. He scored 238 points on 73 field goals with 40 threes and went 52-64 from the charity stripe. Williamson also racked up 28 assists, 17 steals, and 58 boards his freshman season.
Prior to Valpo, Williamson played for Royal Crown Academy. He averaged 15 points and five assists per game during his junior season. During the summer of 2022, he was named to Team Ontario for the U18 2022 Canada Games where he posted 16 points in the championship game to help his team defeat British Columbia 81-70. As a senior, Williamson led his team to an Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association championship. He also earned a spot on Canada's U19 World Cup Team in Summer 2023 averaging 5.3 points per game and going 10-12 from the free-throw line for Team Canada.
"We are very excited to add Jahari to our program.", said coach Senderoff. "He is an experienced combo guard who is an excellent shooter. He has shown the ability to be a playmaker for others, and we plan on taking advantage of that in our system as well. I think he will be a player and a person that our fans will love to get to watch and know. I can't wait for him to join us in June."
