KENT – Transfer Rayvon Griffith has joined Kent State men's basketball. The Cincinnati, Ohio native will join the Flashes for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
A small forward and guard, Griffith comes to Kent State University from the University of Cincinnati where he spent the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons. Redshirting as a freshman, Griffith played in 20 games last season going 13-38 from the floor and 14-17 from the free throw line. He dropped 44 points, had five assists, and pulled in 15 rebounds. He scored a season high of eight points twice on the season for the Bearcats in both their season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Nov. 4) and finale against UCF (April 3).
Prior to college Griffith originally attended Cincinnati's Taft High School before enrolling at Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona, in the summer. He was ranked as high as No. 54 nationally, while also being ranked the nation's 11th best small forward by 247Sports. He led Taft to a state championship during his junior season.
"I am really excited to bring someone with his versatility and talent into our program.", said coach Senderoff. "A top 100 player coming out of high school. He has a connection with coach Avery having grown up down in the Cincinnati area. We really expect him to blossom here at Kent State. Versatile wing and guard, defends well at multiple positions, and is a really competitive team first player. Excited for him to be joining us here at the program."
