KENT, Ohio –– Kent State's baseball standout Hayden Jatczak has been invited to compete in the MLB Draft League, where he will suit up for the Williamsport Crosscutters this summer. The invitation comes from an exceptional 2025 season that earned Jatczak Mid-American Conference Player of the Year honors.
Jatczak dominated MAC competition throughout the 2025 campaign, leading the Golden Flashes in virtually every major offensive category. The talented hitter posted a stellar .376 batting average while collecting 80 hits, driving in 81 runs, and crossing home plate 79 times. Jatczak also had 17 home runs and led the nation with 28 doubles.
"Hayden had an outstanding season as one of the top hitters in the nation, and this invitation is a well-deserved recognition of his talent and hard work," said Head Baseball Coach Jeff Duncan. "The MLB Draft League provides an excellent opportunity for him to showcase his skills against top competition while continuing his development."
The MLB Draft League serves as a premier showcase for top college baseball talent, allowing players to compete against fellow draft-eligible prospects while being evaluated by all 30 Major League Baseball organizations. The Williamsport Crosscutters, based in Pennsylvania, is one of six teams in the league.
