Kent, Ohio– The Kent State Wrestling team has finalized its schedule for the 2025-2026 season.
The Golden Flashes will compete in a number of duals, tri-meets, and opens throughout the course of the year. KSU will host eight meets on campus and two more in the Northeast Ohio area in the first year under Head Coach Josh Moore and his assistant coaches Fred Garcia and Devin Schroder.
"We were very intentional in planning this season's schedule to create multiple opportunities for Northeast Ohio to see and connect with our program," said Moore. "Our vision has been to stay deeply engaged with the community while providing an exciting atmosphere for wrestling fans of all ages, and that strategy has guided our approach. Expect new energy, fresh faces, and plenty of excitement in The Golden Era!"
Kent State will open up the year on the road at the Michigan State Open on Nov. 8. The next weekend they host a series of duals in the Northeast Ohio area. On Nov. 14, they will go up against Mount Union in Stow, while the next day they face-off against the University of Virginia at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. On Nov. 20, the Blue and Gold visit Ohio State for perhaps their toughest test of the season.
They then return home on Dec. 6 for the Kent State open; Bellarmine and Edinboro come into town for a tri-meet on Dec. 11 to open up MAC competition. Two days later, they will travel to Western New York to take on Buffalo and Gardner-Webb.
The Flashes tune-up for another home Open on Dec. 20 the night before, as they will host The University of Tennessee Chattanooga on Dec. 19 before the holiday break.
A trip east starts off the new year for the Blue and Gold as they head to Rider University on Jan. 9 and to The Lehman Open at Franklin & Marshall on Jan 10. A road trip to Illinois follows when they hit the mat with Northern Illinois University on Jan. 23 and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville on Jan 24.
Kent State finishes out the regular season with a four-game home stand starting with a Tri-Meet with Clarion and Long Island University on Jan. 31. Ohio University comes to town on Feb. 6, and KSU will host Central Michigan University and Lock Haven University on Feb. 13 and Feb. 20 respectively.
The 2025-2026 Mid-American Conference Wrestling Championships will be held on March 6 and 7 at the University of Buffalo. The road to the NCAA Tournament will lead to March 19-21, right up the road in Cleveland, Ohio.
The first chance to see the Golden Flashes this year will be at the Kent State Wrestling Open Practice on Oct. 11 at 11:30 a.m. inside the MAC Center.
Throughout the 2025-2026 school year, Kent State University will be celebrating the M.A.C. Center's 75th Anniversary.
