CLEVELAND, Ohio- For a second straight week, a member of the Kent State Soccer team has earned Mid-American Conference honors. This week it was graduate defender Abby Breitschuh that was awarded MAC Defensive player of the week, as the league office announced on Tuesday.
Flashes Defender Abby Breitschuh scored on a header off a corner kick in a win for Kent State over Bowling Green on Sunday. She also helped anchor a defense that gave up just one goal in two games against Bowling Green and Ball State.
The Rochester Hills, Michigan native scored her second goal of the season and the fifth of her career in that win over the Falcons, with the first in 2026 coming in the season-opener against Cleveland State. She has produced five shots in nine games played this season for the blue and gold.
Breitschuh and the rest of the Golden Flashes will return to action on Sunday for their rivalry game against The School Down The Road. The game will be on KSU's home turf at Zoeller Field at Dix Stadium for a 1 P.M. start.
