KENT, Ohio – The 2026-27 season is almost here, and Kent State basketball is inviting Golden Flashes fans to be there for the start of it. The Flashes Tip-Off event takes place Tuesday, October 20, at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center (MAC Center), with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. for Fan Fest. Admission and parking are free.
Fans will get their first look at the Kent State men's and women's basketball teams and coaching staffs as the Flashes are introduced to the home crowd. From there, the night is all about the fun: games, prizes, performances, and a chance to get in on the action with a shot at the half-court shot. It's also a chance to meet the players, cheer on the teams, and get fired up for the season ahead.
Fan Fest Starts at 6:30
The party begins before the main event. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and fans can get a head start on the fun in the MAC Center lobby with games and activities, then stop by to visit with local partners tabling at the event. Arrive early, because you won't want to miss a minute.
Community Partners on Hand
Several local partners will be on site, including The Berthiaumes of Keller Williams Chervenic Realty, Barrio Tacos, Paloma Kent, Chick-fil-A, 345 Flats, and Unified Home Solutions. Additional partners may be added.
