
Sawyer Solitaria Named MAC Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Kent State outfielder Sawyer Solitaria had a dominant opening weekend as he was named the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Player of the Week.
Sawyer Solitaria was dominant at the plate in the Flashes' season-opening sweep of Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond, going 8-for-14 (.571) with three home runs, four RBI, and six runs scored across the three-game series. The sophomore right fielder posted a staggering 1.214 slugging percentage and .600 on-base percentage for a 1.814 OPS, including a two-homer performance in the series opener, where he went 3-for-5 with three RBI. Solitaria reached base safely in nine of his 15 plate appearances, was perfect on the basepaths (1-for-1 in stolen bases), and played flawless defense in right field with nine putouts.Â
