
Ethan Barr Becomes Second Consecutive Golden Flash To Win MAC Wrestler Of The Week Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio- Kent State Wrestler Ethan Barr(174) has earned Mid-American Conference West Division Wrestler of the Week honors, the league office announced Tuesday. After Barr's impressive weekend against competition from LIU and Clarion, he became the second consecutive Golden Flash to win conference wrestler of the week.
Ethan Barr produced perhaps his most impressive weekend of the season for the Flashes as he gave the Flashes 11 Team Points in two matches in a tri-meet against LIU and Clarion. In his first match against Greyson-Catlow Sidler (LIU), he made quick work of his opponent, getting a fall in just 29 seconds.
In his second match of the day against Gabe Lilly (Clarion) he scored 14 first-round points and would come away with a 15-0 TF win. More impressively, he finished the match with one of the best Ride Times in NCAA History with 6 Minutes and 41 seconds of ride time to improve his record to 20-9 on the season.
The 174-pound Columbia, MO native has compiled a record of 20-9 so far this season and will be back in action at home on Friday along with the rest of the Flashes for the Grudge Match. They will host long-time rival Ohio inside the MAC Center for Alumni night. The first match is set to begin at 7 P.M.
