
Six Kent State Wrestlers Head To Las Vegas For U.S. Open Championships

Las Vegas, NEVADA– With the collegiate season all wrapped up, freestyle season is officially underway, kicking off with the U.S. Open Championships in Las Vegas.Â
The tournament will be held at The Expo at World Market Center, and will run from Wednesday, April 22 through Sunday, April 26. Six members of the Kent State wrestling team will travel to Las Vegas this weekend to compete in two separate categories.
Tyeler Hagensen (57 kg), Silas Stits (74 kg), Reese Stephen (74 kg), Braxton Quaintance (79 kg), and Mason Higley (92 kg) will compete in the U20 Freestyle division, which takes place Saturday through Sunday.Â
Ethan Barr 77 kg will compete in the Senior Greco-Roman division, which begins Thursday and continues through Friday. All wrestlers will represent the Golden 1 RTC (G1RTC).
The tournament will feature many of the nation's top wrestlers. Fans can watch the event live on FloWrestling, with brackets available on USA Wrestling.
