Athletic academic counseling offices as well as a student-athlete study space and lounge are located in the MAC Center, room 117.Â

Commonly called "the ARC," student-athletes frequent this over 2,000 square foot space to meet with their assigned academic counselor, utilize computers, or to simply have a place to relax between classes. Student-athlete academic reminders and accomplishments are displayed on scrolling monitors in the area and Academic All-Americans are honored on the wall of fame. A classroom space, lounge space and the student-athlete development programs are available to all student-athletes in this area.Â
The ARC was made possible by a donations from Kent State alumni George L. Jenkins, ’63, and John D. and Joyce R. Farrell, ’51 and ’53. Jenkins, an attorney, who competed on the KSU football team and Farrell, a businesswoman, participated in the KSU track and field program.Â
THE GEORGE L. JENKINS STUDENT-ATHLETE ACADEMIC CENTER
At Kent State, student-athletes have access to a state-of-the-art academic center that was made possible by a generous donation from Kent State alumni George L. Jenkins, ’63, an attorney, who competed on the KSU football team.Â
Opened in spring 2017, the Jenkins Center boasts over 5,000 square feet, including offices for learning specialists, tutors and graduate students, and 10 individual group or individual study rooms. The main study area has approximately 70 study stations with desktop computers and additional space for wireless laptops.  Individual study and conference rooms house 70" chrome cast televisions which students can utilize to practice presentations or work together on group projects.  Free printing is available to all student-athletes utilizing the Jenkins Center. The Jenkins Center is supervised at all times by hired academic monitors to ensure a quiet study environment.

Jenkins Center hours are Monday-Thursday, 9AM-8PM, Fridays, 9:00AM-4:00PM.
