Dr. Tony Adamle, 1994
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Graduated from Cleveland’s Collinwood High School in 1942 after earning three letters in football…As a senior he was named to the All-Ohio team by both the Associated Press and United Press International news services…POST HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Began his collegiate career as a member of the 1942 Ohio State University undefeated freshman team…Following a three year stint in the service he returned to Columbus and was the Buckeye’s starting center…Played in the 1947 College All-Star Game…Following that season he turned professional, signing with the Cleveland Browns…Helped to lead the Brown to divisional crowns from 1947 to 1952 and in 1954…Named team captain in 1950-51…Played in the first two pro-bowl games and was named an All-Pro at linebacker in 1951…Is a charter member of the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame…KSU CAREER: Earned his bachelor’s degree in education from Kent in 1950…Received his masters’ degree and his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University…Served as Kent’s team physician (1966-77 and 1987 to 1994) and associate team physician (1985-85)…Named “Outstanding Team Physician” by the Ohio State Medical Society in 1983 and received the NATA trainer’s award in 1987…Awarded an Honorary Varsity “K” in 1984…PERSONAL: Born in Fairmont, West Virginia on May 12, 1924…Has been in private practice as a primary care physician since 1957…Charter inductee in the Portage County Sports Hall of Fame, 1983…Married to the former Kathleen Duffy of Cleveland…They have six children; Mike, Pat, Vic, Mark, Kelly, and Kerry.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: A 1974 graduate of Mansfield Malabar High School in Mansfield, Ohio…Earned varsity letters in track (2), football (2), and basketball (1) and set school records in the 100 yard dash (.5) and 200 yard dash (21.6)…Was Cardinal Conference champion and state runner-up in the 100 yard dash…KSU CAREER: Earned four Varsity “K’s” as a sprinter for the Golden Flashes indoor and outdoor track teams…Set school record in the 100 meters with a clocking of 10.1 seconds in 1979 (mark since tied by Hall of Famer and Olympian, Thomas Jefferson)…Was Mid-American Conference 100 meter dash champ in 1979 (10.84)…Was All-Ohio 100 meter champ as well…Earned All-America honors with a third place finish in the 60 meter dash at the 1979 NCAA Indoor Track Championships…Coached by Doug Raymond and Orin Richburg…Was a member of the Student Advisory Committee and the Foreign Language Committee as a student…Received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Kent in 1981…POST KSU CAREER: Signed as a free agent cornerback with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL in 1979 and was released in 1980…PERSONAL: Full name is Terry Darnell Carter…Born on June 18, 1955 in Mansfield, Ohio…Currently serving as a director with the City of Mansfield…He and his wife, Danita, have two children Tyonna and Dyonna.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Graduated from North Hills High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1983…Lettered eight times, three each in basketball and volleyball and twice in softball as a prep…Named “Outstanding Female Athlete” as a senior…A two-time selection to the Pittsburgh Press and Pittsburgh Post Gazette All-Section Teams and a member of the Press’ “Terrific Twenty”…Played in three all-star games as a senior and received the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar/Athlete Award…KSU CAREER: Earned four Varsity “K’s” as a member of the Lady Flashes’ basketball team…Named Mid-American Conference “Freshman of the Year” in 1984…Three time All-MAC selection (Honorable Mention 1983-84, Second Team 1985-86 and 1986-87)…Three times chosen MAC “Player of the Week”…Team captain for three seasons…Team MVP in her junior and senior seasons…Led team in scoring four times (the only player, other than Hall of Famer Bonnie Beachy, to accomplish that feat) and in rebounding three times…Concluded her career as Kent’s leading rebounder, with 870, and second leading scorer, with 1,648 (both marks have since been broken)…Received her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent in 1988…PERSONAL: Full name is Judith Ann Dum…Born on July 9, 1965 in El Paso, Texas…Currently serving as a department head with Toys-R-Us.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Earned 12 varsity letters in football (3) basketball (3) baseball (3) and track (3) at Parker-Gray High School in Alexandria, Virginia…Graduated in 1963 after earning All-Conference recognition in all four sports…Was inducted into the Parker-Gray High School Hall of Fame in 1989…KSU CAREER: Lettered three times for the Golden Flashes on the gridiron (1965-67)…All-Mid-American Conference defensive back as a junior and senior…Was a unanimous selection as a senior…Set Kent school records for interceptions in a season in 1965 and 1966 with six and seven, respectively (since broken)…Still holds the Kent career interception record with 19 (in just 23 games)…Was a pre-season All-America pick by Sports Illustrated in 1967…Received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology in 1970…Member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity…POST KSU CAREER: Played for the Pittsburgh Steelers as a defensive back (1968-69)…PERSONAL: Full name is Louis Richard Harris…Born on March 25, 1946 in Washington, D.C….A member of the U.S. Army Reserve…Active in the Association of Energy Engineers and the Alexandria Boys Club…He and his wife, Shirley, have one child, Tre’, who is a nationally ranked junior tennis player.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: A 1951 graduate of Wadsworth Central High School in Wadsworth, Ohio…Lettered in football as a prep…School had no wrestling program…KSU CAREER: Won Mid-American Conference titles at 123 pounds for the Flashes in 1954 and 1955…Placed fourth in the NCAA at 115 pounds in 1954 to earn All-America honors…Captured the prestigious 4-1 Championship at 115 pounds in 1955…Placed third in the NEO AAU 115 pound class in 1953…Received the Kent Booster Award in 1955…Member of the Industrial Arts Club, Sigma Theta Epsilon (where he served as president in 1954-55) and Epsilon Pi Tau…Received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts in 1955 and his masters’ degree 1960…POST KSU CAREER: Won the AAU 115 pound championship in 1956…Placed third in the 1957 AAU National Tournament at 114.5 pounds and won the 1957 Lake Erie AAU Championship at 115 pounds…PERSONAL: Born in Wadsworth, Ohio…Served in the Ohio Air National Guard…Retired from Buffalo State University…Life Member of the American Industrial Arts Association…Member of the Masonic Lodge…He and his wife, Joyce, have three children; Darren, Denise, and Doug.

HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: Graduated from Akron’s East High School where he lettered three times as a catcher and outfielder…Following high school he entered the Army and played for the Ft. Hayes team in Columbus, Ohio and the 2nd Air Force team in Lincoln, Nebraska which played in the “Little World Series”…Was the leading hitter on the Abilene, Texas team which won its league championship…KSU CAREER: Caught three seasons for the Flashes (1947-49) and was known as a solid handler of pitchers and a clutch hitter…Member of Kent teams which posted the school’s best records (seasons of 11 and 12 victories) until the 1964 MAC Championship team went 18-4…Kent coach Wes Stevens recalled his ability to “call a good game” and “handle the pitchers very well”…Spent the summer months playing in the Akron AA League for the Borden Autos squad that captured a state title in 1948 and were runners-up for the national championship…POST KSU CAREER: Coached baseball and assisted in basketball and football at Buchtel High School…PERSONAL: Served as a sales manager for American Hostess…Retired from the Akron Municipal Court…Member of the Greater Akron Baseball, East High School and Summit County Sports Halls of Fame…Past president of the Varsity “K” Alumni Association…Active in the Kent Alumni Association, Kent Blue and Gold Club…Wife Julia.
Pat Semary, 1994
HIGH SCHOOL CAREER: A 1956 graduate of Cleveland’s West Tech High School where he earned five varsity letters in baseball (3), football, and wrestling…KSU CAREER: An outstanding grappler for coach Joe Begala’s squad from 1957-60…Was undefeated in dual meet competition in both his sophomore and senior seasons, posting 9-0 records each time…Won the Mid-American Conference championship at 134 pounds in 1960…Placed second in the MAC in 1958 and third in 1959…Earned All-America honors with a fourth place finish in the NCAA at 137 pounds in 1960…Captured the 4-1 championship in 1959 and placed second in 1958 and 1960…Captained the Flashes as a senior…Lost just one dual match in his Kent career while posting a record of 59-8…Received his bachelor’s degree in Art in 1961 and earned his masters’ degree in Art/Painting and Sculpture in 1967…POST KSU CAREER: Has been coaching wrestling for 30 years at Brunswick and Valley Forge high schools…Coached Brunswick to a pair of Chippewa Conference titles (1964 & 65) and the 1965 sectional championship…His Valley Forge teams have captured five league titles and posted three runner-up finishes…PERSONAL: Full name is Patrick Dominick Semary…Born on March 15, 1937 in Cleveland, Ohio…He and his wife, Gail, have four children; Christopher, Matthew, Sandra, and Patrick…Currently serving as an art teacher and head wrestling coach at Valley Forge High School in Parma Heights…Is a member of the NEA, OEA, and NEO Coaches and Officials Association.
