Meagan Class
A native of Harrisburg, Pa., Class was named to the All-MAC First Team and earned MAC Player of the Year honors in 2000. She also made the NFHA All-West Region First Team and MAC All Tournament Team in 1999. In addition to her on field accomplishments, Class was also successful in the classroom earning Academic All-MAC First Team (1999-2000) and Academic All District At-Large Second team in 2000. She served as a team captain her senior season and finished sixth all time in assists in school history.
Veronique Drouin
Drouin earned all MAC First Team honors (2001-2003) and All MAC Second Team in 2000. She also led the Flashes to three MAC Championships (2001-2003) and was named the MAC Golfer of the Year in 2003 and Freshman of the Year in 2000. Drouin currently serves as the assistant women's golf coach at the University of Georgia. She is a native of St. Agnes, Quebec.
John Faulstick
Faulstick served as Kent State's head athletic trainer from 1980 until his recent retirement. Presented with an Honorary Varsity "K" letter in 2002, he was inducted into the Ohio Athletic Trainers' Association (OATA) Hall of Fame in May 2009. Prior to coming to Kent State, Faulstick was an athletic trainer and instructor at Ball State from 1977-1980. Faulstick was also named the OATA Athletic Trainer of the Year in the College/University Division in 2000.
Antonio Gates
A native of Detroit, MI., Gates earned AP Honorable Mention All-American, NABC All-District First Team and All-MAC first team honors in 2003. He was also selected to the MAC All-Tournament Teams in 2002 and 2003 and the NCAA Tournament All-South Regional Team in 2002. Despite playing only two seasons for the Flashes, Gates ranks 13th all time in scoring (1,216) in school history. He also helped lead KSU to the MAC Championship and its only NCAA Elite 8 appearance. The San Diego Chargers would later sign Gates as an undrafted free agent. His professional accomplishments include becoming a five-time Pro Bowl Selection at tight end (2004-2008) and a three-time first team All-Pro selection (2004-2006).
Charles Hankton
A native of Barberton, OH, Hankton was a three-time outdoor MAC Champion in long jump in 1993 and triple jump in 1993-1994. He was an All-American in the triple jump in 1994 and ranks first all time in the KSU record books in the triple jump (53-3). Hankton also served as team captain his senior season.
James Harrison
Harrison was a standout linebacker from 1999-2001 for the Flashes. He was named to the 2001 All-MAC first team while leading the defense with 12 sacks and 20 tackles for loss. In 2000, he also led the team with 106 total tackles. His 15 career sacks and 42 career tackles for loss rank third and fourth in the KSU record book, respectively. After his collegiate career, Harrison was signed as an undrafted free agent in 2002 by the Pittsburgh Steelers. His professional accomplishments include: two-time Super Bowl Champion with the Pittsburgh Steelers, two Pro-Bowl selections, two All-Pro selections and AP Defensive Player of the Year in 2008.
Jeff Horvath
Horvath, a native of Mansfield, Ohio, had a distinguished career at KSU with six MAC championships. He topped the conference field in the 100 breaststroke (1972-1974), the 200 breaststroke in 1972 and the 400-medley relay (1972-1973). Horvath was also a part of three MAC championship teams and qualified for the NCAA championship in the 100 breaststroke (1972-1974), and the 400-medley relay in 1972.
Travis Miller
During his Kent State career, Miller was named All-Conference twice (second team 93, first team 94), the All-MAC Tournament Team twice (1993-1994), and MAC Pitcher of the Year in 1994. Miller threw a no-hitter against Wright State on March 29, 1993 and was a member of two MAC regular season championship teams (1993-1994). His career continued after college when the Minnesota Twins drafted him in the first round in 1994. He pitched in the majors for seven years and appeared in 203 games with a career 5.05 ERA. Miller is a native of West Manchester, OH.
