Former Golden Flash Paige Salisbury enters her fifth season on the Kent State women's basketball staff and works with the team’s post players. After returning as Director of Basketball Operations in May 2022, Salisbury was promoted to Assistant Coach in July 2023.
Salisbury helped Kent State to back-to-back 21-win campaigns, including a Mid-American Conference Tournament championship and NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024, during her first two seasons as an assistant coach.
The Flashes have become an elite rebounding team since Salisbury began working with post players and have recorded three of the top 10 total rebounds seasons in program history. Kent State ranked in the top 40 nationally in both rebounds per game (40.4) and rebounding margin (+6.1) in 2023-24 and then ranked 29th in rebounding margin (+6.6) in 2024-25. That same season, Bridget Dunn set the Flashes single-season rebounding record with 332 and ranked fourth in the country in defensive rebounds per game (8.7).
Individually, Salisbury has mentored 2024 MAC All-Freshman Team and 2025 All-MAC honorable mention performer Janae Tyler and oversaw the development of Tatiana Thomas, who signed to play professionally in Norway.
Prior to her return, Salisbury spent three seasons on the coaching staff at Lake Erie. She joined the Storm as a graduate assistant in 2019 and was promoted to assistant coach in 2020.
Salisbury originally arrived in Kent as an incoming freshman during Summer 2015 along with assistant coach Alexa Golden. She saw action in 46 games and made 12 starts during the next two seasons and was a member of the Flashes team that won the MAC East Division championship and earned a WNIT appearance in 2017. Salisbury was an Academic All-MAC honoree in 2017.
She then transferred to Ursuline College, where she led the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in assist-to-turnover ratio in back-to-back-seasons. Salisbury was among the NCAA Division II leaders during the 2017-18 season and ranked ninth (2.47), while also finishing 13th in minutes per game (36.55). She played in 57 games over two seasons and posted averages of 8.2 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest. Salisbury was named to the Academic All-GMAC Team as a senior. Following her final season on the hardwood, she joined the Arrows’ softball program and earned All-GMAC Second Team honors.
The Northeast Ohio native was a four-year letterwinner at Brunswick High School, where she set the school record for most games played and was a two-time All-Ohio selection.
Salisbury earned Bachelor of Arts degrees in Biology and Mathematics from Ursuline in 2019. She then completed her MBA from Lake Erie in 2021.
