Dan Griffin joined the Kent State Athletics Communication staff in August of 2019. His responsibilities include working with the Kent State football team as well as overseeing the athletics communication office.
Dan comes to Kent State after spending the previous four years at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania. There he worked with several of the Red Flash teams, primarily with women's basketball, softball, volleyball and the Red Flash football team. He also worked closely with the video and creative services department, helping with broadcasts, in-game entertainment and serving as the public address announcer for basketball games.
Prior to his time with the Red Flash, Dan got his start as the Sports Information Director at Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. Dan worked directly with all 18 of the Majors' teams and worked along side the Athletic Director to start a marketing and promotional campaign that was recognized by Sports Illustrated.
A graduate of Ohio University, Dan spent the first five years out of college working as a sports broadcaster in Ohio and Kentucky covering college and high school sports. He earned a Master's of Sports Administration from Liberty University Online in 2012. Dan and his wife Cortney reside in Akron.
