What is your most memorable moment at Kent State?
"I have had a few memorable moments on and off the field. My most memorable moment on the field was getting my first hit as a slapper. Coming into college, I was a right-handed power hitter and got switched to the left side my first week of fall practice freshman year. Another big moment was winning the MAC tournament freshmen year. We had to do the unthinkable and play 3 games in one day to win it all AND WE DID!
A moment off the field was during my senior year, walking back to the car after a long, cold doubleheader in Arkansas. I was checking my e-mails and received my acceptance letter from Kent States NOAC doctoral program. Needless to say, I dropped everything and cried tears of joy. Being a dual-sport athlete was tough, but it has taught me so much and made getting into grad school feel so rewarding."
What has your time at Kent State meant to you?
"I have had the time of my life at Kent. I was scared leaving home freshman year, but I had an awesome roommate/teammate, Hallie Ward, that made things a little easier. I did not know anyone, but I was super thankful to be roommates with a friend whom I had known for a few years before attending Kent.
Being on your own on campus has taught me how to be an adult, handle things on my own, and make my own decisions, no matter how tough they may be. Kent has given me endless opportunities which I am forever grateful for. I have met so many great people, teammates, coaches, faculty, and more!"
What is next for you?
"I will be attending Kent States Audiology Doctoral Program for the next four years. I will also be competing for the Track team for the next two years."
