Volleyball Drops Heartbreaker to Toledo

TOLEDO, Ohio--The Kent State volleyball team (7-7, 3-2 MAC) dropped a 30-23, 25-30, 27-30, 30-23, 10-15 decision to the University of Toledo (6-12, 2-4 MAC) Friday tonight (Oct. 10) at Savage Hall in Toledo.

Sophomore outside hitter Danielle Holt (Galion, Ohio/Galion) had a solid performance with 21 kills, 15 digs, four aces and three blocks. Holts kills-digs outing marked the sixth straight match that she has recorded a double-double.

Junior right-side hitter Ruth Ladurner-Schnitzer (Lana, Italy/Franz Kafka) hit .480 for the match with 15 kills on three errors, while freshman middle blocker Karry Griffin (Selma, Texas/Judson) registered 10 kills.

Two Golden Flashes were responsible with match-highs on the defensive end. Senior libero Tarrin Pelton (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) carded a match-high 18 digs, while junior middle blocker Kara Warnke (Aurora, Ohio/Lock Haven) notched a match-best four blocks.

The Golden Flashes face Bowling Green State University (9-8, 1-3 MAC) tomorrow, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m. in Anderson Arena.
