Rischen's Two Goals Lead Field Hockey Past CMU, 3-2

CMU sophomore Alisa Folk started the scoring with an unasissted strike just over 17 minutes into the first half. Rischen followed with her first goal, assisted by senior Becky Rahaim (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer), on a penalty corner to knot the score 1-1 at the half.
Rischen then returned the favor with an assist on Rahaims second goal of the season to give KSU the 2-1 lead. Junior Kristy Reed evened the score at two off a penalty shot with 11:27 left in the second half.
Richen netted the game-winner, again assisted by Rahaim, with 6:56 left to keep the Flashes undefeated in conference play. Rischen had five points in the game to give her a total of 10 points in her last three contests.
Senior Jessica Creeden (Emmaus, Pa./Emmaus) stopped nine of the 11 shots she faced to earn her fourth victory and senior Laura Plese made five saves in eight attempts in the loss.
The Golden Flashes will continue conference play at Ball State University on Friday, Oct. 3, at 3 p.m. The matchup will feature the only remaining teams undefeated in the MAC.
