Tolar Ranked 20th in Intermat Wrestling Poll

KENT, Ohio --- Kent State University senior wrestler Mike Tolar (Parma, Ohio/Lakewood St. Edward) is ranked 20th in the nation at 157 pounds in the Intermat Wrestling Poll released Tuesday (Jan. 13).
Tolar, a team co-captain, earned his first national ranking of the season on the strength of a 19-3 overall record and wins in 13 of his last 14 matches. His only loss in that stretch has been to third-ranked Jake Percival of Ohio University, who has a perfect 29-0 record.
In addition, Tolar is tied for fifth in the nation at 157 pounds with his 19 victories. His 18 decisions have been by a combined score of 150-32 (average score of 8.3 to 1.8) plus a 24-second fall.
Tolar and the Golden Flashes (1-9, 0-1 Mid-American Conference) will return to action Thursday, Jan. 18, when they host MAC rival Eastern Michigan University at Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center at 7 p.m. EST.
