Cribbs Named MAC East Offensive Player of the Week

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Kent State University senior quarterback Joshua Cribbs (Washington, D.C./Dunbar) has been named the Mid-American Conference East Division Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in the Golden Flashes 42-16 win over Ohio University on Saturday, Oct. 30.
Cribbs rushed for a career-high 223 yards and two touchdowns in the win over the Bobcats, helping KSU snap a five-game losing streak. Among his 20 carries, Cribbs scored on runs of 58 and nine yards.
In addition, Cribbs completed 18-of-26 passes- including a perfect 12-of-12 to open the game- for 150 yards and another touchdown without an interception. He also punted twice, averaging 47 yards per kick.
On the season, Cribbs leads the team in both passing and rushing. He has completed 143-of-239 passes (59.8%) for 1,353 yards, nine touchdowns and six interceptions while also running for 602 yards on 128 carries (4.7 avg.) and six scores.
Cribbs is the third different Golden Flash to earn Player of the Week honors this season. Senior wide receiver Darrell Dowery, Jr. (Washington, D.C./Dunbar) and redshirt freshman defensive back Jack Williams (Norfolk, Va./Booker T. Washington) were earlier recipients of the award.
