Softball Picked Third in MAC Preseason Poll

Defending division and regular season champion Marshall University was voted to win the East as well as the championship, while Central Michigan University was slated to top the West. Miami University ws tabbed second in the East.
Kent State returns 10 letterwinners, including five position starters and three pitchers, to the squad that finished 27-19 overall and 14-10 in the conference in 2003. Senior catcher Carrie Eneix (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington) is back after receiving an All-MAC first-team nod last year, as well as senior pitcher Kate Leary (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington), who ranked among the leagues top 10 in five pitching categories last season.
The Golden Flashes, under the direction of head coach Karen Linder, open the 2004 season at the UNC Triangle Classic in Chapel Hill, N.C., Feb. 13-15.
