Womens Basketball To Face Saint Josephs In Postseason WNIT

KENT, Ohio The Kent State womens basketball team (19-9, 12-4) has earned a bid to the 2004 Postseason Womens National Invitation Tournament and will face the Saint Josephs Hawks (20-10, 12-4) of the Atlantic-10 at 7 p.m. Friday, March 19 at the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse in Philadelphia, Pa. The Flashes will be making their first-ever postseason WNIT appearance.
The Golden Flashes finished second in the Mid-American Conferences East Division this year with a 12-4 league mark, earning a No. 3 seed at the 2004 MAC Tournament in Cleveland. They went on an eight game winning streak to end the regular season before being tripped up in the first round of the MAC Tournament by sixth-seeded Marshall University, 64-58 (March 10).
Kent State is one of three MAC teams in this years field. Miami will face Xavier March 17 and Western Michigan will face Louisville March 18.
