Baseball Crushes Findlay, 17-5

In all, nine different Golden Flashes recorded a hit, five of whom had two or more.
I think there was some improvement there offensively, head coach Rick Rembielak said. It was good to see the hits on the board. Most of our swings were much better overall. It puts a good feeling with everybody. We just have to keep building from there one game at a time.
My concern is to string two games together like this. Today is fine, but Im curious to see how well come out and swing tomorrow. Ill be more satisfied if we swing like this two days in a row.
Kent State reliever JJ Pacella (Fr.-R, Powell, Ohio/Olentangy) picked up his first career win, going 3.0 innings, allowing two runs on four hits to go with four Ks. Andrew Davis (Fr., Chillicothe, Ohio/Zane Trace) started his first career game for the Flashes, working the first 3.0 innings while giving up three runs (one earned) on six hits and fanning four. B.J. Preston (0-1) picked up the loss for Findlay who used seven different pitchers.
After taking an 8-3 lead after three innings, Findlay crept back with runs in the fourth and six innings before Kent State blew the game wide open in the bottom of the sixth. The inning was highlighted by two, two RBI doubles by Chad Kinyon (Sr., Lima, Ohio/Bath) and Adam Crowder (Sr., Mantua, Ohio/E. Kentucky) and a RBI triple by Sega off the wall in right center field. Todd Balduf (So., Dublin, Ohio/Scioto) also recorded a two RBI single to center field earlier in the inning.
Chuck Moores (Jr., Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) two RBI double in the bottom of the third inning highlighted a five-run third inning for Kent State. Emmannuel Burriss (Washington, D.C./Wilson) later slapped an RBI single to right. Moore would come into score on a bases load walk to Davis before Balduf came around for the fifth run of the inning courtesy of a Joe Tucker (So., Canton, Ohio/Central Catholic) fielders choice.
Moore finished the game 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Kinyon and Crowder each finished with two hits, two RBIs and two scores. Burriss also had two hits and an RBI for the Flashes.
Red-shirt freshman Jason Seelman (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) pitched the final two innings for Kent State, allowing no runs and no hits and striking out two.
Kenny Beamer led the way for the Oilers offensively, going 3-for-4 with two scores. Richie Van Hoose finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
The Flashes will now hit the road tomorrow (March 31) as the travel to Pittsburgh, Pa. for a showdown with the Pittsburgh Panthers (14-4, 3-0 Big East). Game time is 3 p.m.
