Softball Sweeps Toledo to Extend Winning Streak to Seven

Senior Tracie Logar (McDonald, Ohio/McDonald) stepped up at both ends of the plate for the Flashes in the opening set as Kent State won 6-3. She went 2-for-4 with a RBI double while pitching five innings for the win. Freshman Brittney Robinson (LaGrange, Ohio/Keystone) recorded her second save of the season.
Seniors Marci Ridenbaugh (Canton, Ohio/South) and Kelly Maehl (Powell, Ohio/Olentangy) both went 2-for-3 with one run.
In game two junior Jodi Stevens (McCutchenville, Ohio/Mohawk) ripped a three-run bomb over left center in the top of the fifth to give Kent State a 3-2 victory. Stevens, this weeks Mid-American Conference (MAC) East Division Player of the Week, has registered five home runs on the season and is now tied for third on the schools all-time home run list with 13.
Sophomore Erin Christopher (Loudonville, Ohio/Loudonville) tallied her first victory of the season as she threw five innings and four strikeouts while giving up three hits and one earned run. Senior Kate Leary (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington) also picked up her first save of the season.
The Flashes will host their final home game of the 2004 season Wednesday, April 28, against Ball State University in a doubleheader at 2 p.m.
