Kinyon Names KSU Athlete of the Week

Kinyon batted .706 (12-for-17) with two homers, five doubles, six runs scored and seven RBI as Kent State went 3-2 last week. Kinyon smacked two monster doubles off the left-field wall at Jacobs Field to go with an RBI in the 2-1 loss to Cleveland State University Monday before going 3-for-4 with a home run, three scored and two RBI in the win at West Virginia University Tuesday.
On saturday, Kinyon was 3-for-4 again with two doubles and a run scored. Kinyon then capped his stellar week going 4-for-6 in two games at Western Michigan University Sunday. Kinyon went 2-for-2 in the first game and 2-for-4 in the second with a three-run homer, a double and four RBI. Kinyon is currently enjoying a season-best 12-game hit streak.
On the season Kinyon is leading the Golden Flashes in batting average (.375), runs (45), hits (75), home runs (13), RBI (54), total bases (131), walks (37) and is tied for the lead in doubles (17).
Kent State (29-23, 12-9 MAC East) returns to action this weekend (May 21-23) for a pivotal three-game series against MAC East leader Miami University (32-17, 13-6).
