Moore Receives MAC Baseball Player of the Week Honors

KENT, Ohio Junior outfielder Chuck Moore (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas) has been named this weeks Mid-American Conference Player of the Week for the East Division, the conference office announced Monday (May 3). The honor is the first of Moores career.

Moore earns the weekly accolade after hitting .600 (9-for-15) in four victories last week. He drove in six runs, scored eight times and recorded three doubles and a pair of stolen bases. Moore opened the week with a 2-for-4 outing against Pittsburgh, then was 4-for-4 with three runs and three RBIs in KSUs opener against Buffalo. The next day, the junior was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a pair of runs scored and two stolen bases. He finished out the weekend with a 1-for-3 performance with two runs scored, to give KSU its first conference series sweep of the season.

On the season, Moore is hitting .305 with two home runs, 20 RBI and is second on the team with 13 doubles. He also is hitting a team-best .398 in conference games.
