I think Scott is a terrific choice to continue the success at Kent State. Scott is a great recruiter, he knows the game extremely well and I think he will have a tremendous impact on that program. Our success at Georgia Tech was a direct result of his recruiting, hard work and knowledge of the game. I have no doubt hell do a great job. I was very pleased to learn that (athletic director) Laing (Kennedy) hired Scott because he was a great player for me up there. I think it was the group of players that he played with that really started to turn that program around in the early 90s. He is following a great coach in Rick Rembielak and I think hell continue the success.

Scott will be a great asset to the Kent State baseball program. Hes young, energetic, is a great recruiter, has a wonderful knowledge of the game and has a great career in front of him. Hes the total package. He has seen some very good college baseball being from the SEC and the ACC. Scott is the definition of a players coach. The players all like him and he relates well to them. I think Kent State has a bright future with Scott as their head coach and should feel very fortunate to have landed a coach of his caliber.
