O'Donnell Honored By All-American Football Foundation

KENT, Ohio -- Kent State's Associate Director of Athletics and Senior Woman Administrator Cathy O'Donnell will be honored today (Aug. 1) by the All-American Football Foundation, receiving the Outstanding Associate Athletic Director Award for 2005.s The award ceremony will take place at the organization's 73rdsBanquet of Champions at the Chicago Athletic Club.
O'Donnell is in her 16th year working in the athletics department after three years in the admissions office.s She was most recently promoted to associate athletic director for academic and student services in 2000.s Her primary responsibilities are monitoring the eligibility, compliance, financial aid, housing, awards and academic performance of Kent State student-athletes.
She also has 11 years of teaching experience and served one year as an instructor in the Learning Resource Center at Marshall University.s
O'Donnell earned her bachelor's degree in English from Ohio State University in 1973.s She received a master's degree in higher education from Kent State in 1992.
O'Donnell is joined by another Mid-American Conference administrator among this year's list of award winners;sGary Richter, the MAC assistant commissioner for media relations, is receiving the Scoop Hudgins Outstanding Sports Information Director Award.
