Kurz Named to Academic All-District IV Soccer Team

KENT, Ohio Kent State University women's soccer player Lisa Kurz was named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Soccer Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) when the squad was announced today (Nov. 2).
Kurz, who carries a better than 3.9 grade point average as a junior international relations major from Parma, Ohio, was named to the All-District IV Second Team. She is just the fourth second-team pick and sixth Academic All-District selection overall in the history of the Kent State soccer program.
On the field Kurz currently leads the team in scoring with seven goals, five assists and 19 total points. She recorded the first multiple-goal game of her career last Sunday, Oct. 29, including the game-winner in a thrilling 5-4 double-overtime victory at Central Michigan University in the Mid-American Conference Tournament Quarterfinals.
The Golden Flashes, seeded sixth in the MAC Tournament, face seventh-seeded Northern Illinois University in the conference semifinals on Friday, Nov. 3, at 11:30 a.m. in Toledo, Ohio.
