Eichorn Named Academic All-District

Eichorn, who has started 46 games in left field this season, is fourth in the Mid-American Conference in home runs (12) and RBI (48). He ranks third in the conference in runs scored (53) and fifth in both on-base percentage (.454) and slugging percentage (.612). Eichorn is hitting .329 from the cleanup spot and is third on the team with nine stolen bases.
The marketing major carries a 3.298 grade point average and has several academic awards to show for it. Eichorn was named MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week earlier this season and was the recipient of KSUs Merle Wagoner Award. Along with being named to the Academic All-District Team in 2005, he also earned a spot on the Academic All-MAC Team.
The Golden Flashes (32-15, 16-5 MAC) will play their final MAC home series this weekend (May 12-14) against rival Akron.
